Armenia is being unblocked and is becoming an important hub of major international logistics routes, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in a Facebook post, referring to the joint statement by Armenia and the United States on the framework for the implementation of the TRIPP project.
According to Mirzoyan, the document is beneficial for Armenia, as it contributes to unblocking the country and strengthening its role in international logistics routes without undermining its sovereignty, territorial integrity or jurisdiction.
He stressed that the initiative is also beneficial for the United States, Armenia's immediate neighbors, and all potential beneficiaries.
Armenia, being a landlocked country with closed borders with two of its four neighboring states, has constantly faced logistical difficulties. Their geographical quasi-isolation has hindered the ability to fully utilize the potential of international trade.
Experts note that a reduction of about 10 percent in export processes from Armenia increases the volume of exports to the EAEU by around 13 percent, and to the EU by about 4 percent. This shows that trade with the EAEU has structural advantages.
The Armenia freight and logistics market size is estimated at USD 1.51 billion in 2025, and is expected to reach USD 1.69 billion by 2030, at a CAGR of 2.29% during the forecast period. By freight transport mode, road freight held a 75.96% revenue share in 2024; air freight is forecast to expand at the highest 2.58% CAGR between 2025-2030.
During January to October 2025, Armenia handled a total freight volume of 13,960.5 thousand tons, representing a modest but meaningful increase of 2% compared to the same period in 2024.
